What to check, in order

Safety first. Switch the appliance off and unplug it before checking anything inside it. If you are not comfortable with any step, stop and call a technician.
  1. Reset the oven at the breaker for a full minute; a start-up communication error that never returns may have been a one-off.
  2. Note whether the display lights at all: a lit display with E005 means the boards are powered but not talking; a dead display is a power problem instead.
  3. The harness runs inside the oven, so checking it means sliding the oven out and opening the top — do not attempt this unless you are confident working around mains wiring.
  4. If the code is permanent, book a technician to test the harness and isolate which board has failed.
